I saw this video posted over at Bianchista and just had to share. I’ve been talking to my brother, Adam, who lives and rides in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Wind is a huge issue there as A1A, the main cycling route, runs north/south right along the beach. Wind whips in daily off the Atlantic and riders there like Adam have to suffer through the constant battle of interminable air blasts to the face. Of course, there’s always a sweet tailwind too but if you ask riders from flat, windy places which they’d prefer, wind or no wind, it’s almost always “no wind.”
Anyway, enjoy a good laugh in this video as these relentlessly dedicated riders flog themselves to get in the training miles. Unbelievable.
Ride on…

Man, I’ll take hills over a headwind any day! At least with hills you know it will end at the top.
Agreed!
Hills over headwind any day! At least then you can control your own suffering.
Totally! Headwinds just suck the life outta me. I can get excited for a climb, not wind.
